The Buzz:

Scene Magazine's Elaine Cicora on Artefino's new owners in 'Urban Makeovers':

"There's nothing quite like the hands-on involvement of an ardent owner..
Artefino.. was taken over by Tower press owners Dave and Karen Perkowski in late November. Since then, Karen has expanded the hours, overhauled the menu, hired and art coordinator to manage special events, and brought in an executive chef."

Quoting Karen: "I really want to improve the food and turn [Artefino] into a neighborhood destination."

The Cleveland Plain Dealer writes, "Artefino blends suit you to a tea"

Artefino invites patrons to enjoy their exotic tea selection. Wilma Salisbury of the PD describes her experience for readers: "A sniff of the roses, jasmine, lemon myrtle and gunpowder green in the house blend sends the senses soaring, and the heady mix tastes as rejuvenating as it smells... The preparation fits the nonstuffy mood of [this] art gallery/cafe in the historic Tower Press Building at 1900 Superior Ave., Cleveland."

The Cleveland Plain Dealer lists Artefino in their "Tasty Twenty" list of the top spots in Cleveland, describing Artefino as an "exciting space in the Tower Press Building. .. Interesting panini, beautiful desserts."

The Cleveland Free Times reports: "the long wait is over. Located in the newly renovated artist building Tower Press, Artefino is equal parts art gallery, gift shop and café. The bright, comfortable space is filled .. with ...works of art, jewelry and other shiny-type stuff. The menu consists of salads, sandwiches, panini, and fruit and energy smoothies. [that] promise to “refuel” or to “bust” the influenza, and supplements such as ginkgo, wheat grass and bee pollen can be inserted for just 50 cents. "
Cool Cleveland contributor Cavana Faithwalker reviews Artefino: "easy access from Superior and a nice human scale that will probably entice many within the building and without to hangout and shoot the collective breeze, forge artists manifestos or just relax after a long day. I saw coffees and light fare like sandwiches on the menu along with very fun deserts and all seemed reasonably priced. Artists hangout ... The place to be? The trappings are there, especially during the warm weather months when people can pour out into the foyer at the entrance to the building."
